for Symphony Orchestra (0, 0, 0, 0 – 2, 3, 3, 1 – timp, 5perc, pno, str), electric guitar and synthesizer

During my graduate studies in scoring for film and multimedia at New York University, I had to prepare multiple musical cues. The common practice is to extract a scene from an existing film and interpret it with original music. This scene comes from “War and Peace” (2007) by Robert Dornhelm and Brendan Donnison. To portray a feeling of grandiosity and inevitability I utilized an aggressive brass section and a steady drum pattern. Notice the score does not cointain woodwinds. The ending unexpectedly features electric quitar and a synthesizer, a stark contrast to the symphonic sound.
