During my graduate studies in scoring for film and multimedia at New York University, I was required to prepare multiple musical cues. The common practice is to extract a scene from an existing film and interpret it with original music. This scene comes from “Birds” (1963) by Alfred Hitchcock. In the original setting there is no music at all, so I composed on blank canvas employing the serial technique in order to evoke the feeling of terror and confusion.
